IRSCHARA

Dennis Irschara is from Dobbiaco, South Tyrol. The surname is Ladin — old, from this part of the Alps — and translates as 'from the bear forest.'

He left at nineteen to discover, and the world did not disappoint. India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Indonesia, the Americas, Europe. Colours, music, traditions, and moments when tears were more appropriate than a smile. He studied languages in Vienna, exhibited there, then worked haute couture in Paris — and came to understand that art can be controlled, but Art needs to always be free.

He is based in Dobbiaco. The ever changing colours of the mountains and the impressions of his continuous travels are what he translates into every piece he makes.
